Can employees park in visitor facilities for non work related visits?
Yes. Employees are permitted to park at visitor locations for non work visits. Parking attendants may inquire as to the nature of your visit, and the patient name, as they do with other visitors.
Can I park in the Employee Garage for off hour shifts?
Yes. All employee AVI tags allow access between 2PM and 5AM, Monday through Friday. 24/7 access is granted on weekends and all MMC holidays.
Why am I not allowed to park in the Employee Garage 24/7?

How do I know what time the shuttles run?

Do I need a new AVI tag and sticker if I get a new vehicle?
Yes. Please update all vehicle changes with parking@mmc.org.
What if I am temporarily driving a vehicle not registered with MMC, (loaner, spouse's vehicle, etc.)?
All non authorized vehicles parked in employee parking are subject to enforcement. Please contact the MMC parking department, (207-662-6676, or parking@mmc.org), to obtain a temporary permit.
What is an AVI tag?
All MMC employees will receive an AVI tag that is programmed to grant access to the employee garage, (for the times authorized). An AVI tag vends the gate via a radio frequency, similar to the EZ Pass or a garage door opener.

Can I park at MMC if I am a worker that is not eligible for payroll deduction?
Yes. Workers who are not eligible for payroll deduction must register & prepay for parking here.
How much does parking cost?
All permanent employees who are eligible for payroll deductions pay the same weekly amount, $3.00 per week, regardless of parking assignment. All per Diem employees pay $ .60, per day.
Is there a carpooling program at MMC?
Yes, MMC offers various carpool resources and incentives. Please visit Commuter Choice, MMC’s alternative commuting program, for more information
Are there alternative commuting programs available at MMC?
Yes, MMC supports alternative commuting through its Commuter Choice program (formerly Get on Board). Commuter Choice provides travel information and rewards (like parking fee reimbursements) for staff interested in alternative commuting, like carpooling, transit, walking, cycling, and other active modes. What if my spouse or partner also works at MMC? Sometimes we drive together, sometimes separately, can this have an impact on our parking?
This will not impact either party's ability to access the facility, as long as both parties have registered online for the parking program.
Why am I required to register my vehicle?
All Maine Health associates, (employees, students, volunteers and vendors), are are required to register their vehicle with the parking department. This allows the enforcement team to protect the most proximal parking for patients and visitors.
What happens if I don’t register my vehicle?
Without your vehicle in one of our databases, you run the risk of enforcement (including towing). Employee vehicles are not towed. Employee parking offenses are subject to MMC’s formal corrective action process.
Why am I being assessed a parking fee?
All who are employed by Maine Heatlh will pay a fee in order to contribute to the general upkeep of the parking and shuttle program. This is regardless of which primary site the employee may be assigned to.
I am located off-site from the MMC Bramhall Campus, why is the fee being applied to me?
Employees at all owned or leased locations will pay a fee in order to contribute to the general upkeep of the parking and shuttle program. This is regardless of which primary site the employee may be assigned to.
Are other MaineHealth facilities (non-MMC) being required to pay a parking fee for parking lot maintenance?
Yes
I use on-street or public parking, do I have to register my car?
Yes. By registering your vehicle, you become eligible for the Commuter Choice program, which facilitates a rebate for all parking payroll deductions.
I have changed facilities, do I retain my parking tag?
If you change facilities, please contact the parking office to verify that you have the correct parking credential.
I have changed facilities, do I still need to pay a parking fee?
Yes.
Is there a designated visitor parking lot for employees on the MMC campus?
No. If an employee needs to come to the hospital for an appointment or to visit a patient, he/she may use any space intended for patients and visitors.
How soon can I expect to receive my parking credentials?
Parking credentials will be distributed ASAP. You will receive an email from the parking office within 48 hours.
I am ending employment, how do I go about returning my tag?
Thank you for returning your tag. You may inter-office it to Parking MGB-5648 . You may also call 207-662-6676 for additional options
Am I charged for parking when not at work or out on PTO?
No.
